Asite aStock — Troy Halliday

Asite aStock

I do my best work in the messy early phase, when a customer request, executive idea, or complex workflow has real potential but lacks the clarity needed for confident delivery. I help teams reduce risk, eliminate ambiguity, and make better build decisions by answering the critical questions before heavy investment begins.

At a Glance

My Role

Product architecture, UX/UI design, mobile workflows and functional React Native proof of concept.

Product Type

Enterprise SaaS, Marketplace extension, web admin platform and mobile warehouse app.

Users

Warehouse teams, procurement users, admin staff, managers and operational teams.

Key Contribution

Turned a customer request into a scalable inventory management product by defining architecture and delivering a functional React Native proof of concept.

From customer request to scalable product opportunity

What started as a simple request for better stock visibility after procurement uncovered deeper operational challenges. I identified the opportunity to transform it into a unified, scalable inventory management product within the Asite Marketplace.

The Request

Improve stock visibility and control after procurement.

The Challenge

Procurement, delivery, warehouse handling and live stock visibility were disconnected.

The Opportunity

Extend Marketplace into a reusable inventory and warehouse operations product.

My Role: Turning Ambiguity into Product Direction

I led early product definition and design direction for aStock. My role was to uncover the real need behind the request, map operational workflows, define the product architecture, and create a functional React Native proof of concept that stakeholders and engineering could evaluate.

Discovery

Uncovered the real customer and operational needs behind the request.

Architecture

Defined information architecture, workflows, data relationships and system touchpoints.

Workflow Design

Created intuitive experiences for both web admin and mobile warehouse users.

Prototyping

Built a functional React Native POC for Android and iOS to prove technical feasibility.

Making the direction tangible with a functional React Native POC

To move the concept beyond static design, I created a functional React Native proof of concept for Android and iOS. It was not intended to be production-ready code. Its purpose was to demonstrate mobile workflows, explore feasibility and give stakeholders and engineering something tangible to evaluate.

What this project demonstrates about my approach

aStock is a clear example of where I create the most value, turning ambiguous customer requests into scalable product opportunities through structured thinking, deep operational understanding, and technical prototyping.

Complex Problems into Intuitive Workflows

Translated intricate operational and domain challenges in inventory management into clear, user-friendly workflows across web and mobile.

Cohesive Cross-Platform Experiences

Designed unified and consistent user experiences for both web admin users and mobile warehouse teams, ensuring seamless task completion.

Functional Prototyping to Bridge Teams

Built a working React Native proof-of-concept to validate technical feasibility, reduce ambiguity, and strengthen collaboration between design and engineering.

Clear Direction & Stakeholder Confidence

Delivered clear product architecture and direction that aligned stakeholders across product, engineering, and operations teams.

Next Case Study

This approach is not a theoretical framework. It is how I work when a product opportunity is unclear, the request is still forming, and the business needs to decide what should be built.
