Asite Marketplace — Troy Halliday

Asite Marketplace

Redesigning procurement workflows to drive commercial growth

Asite Marketplace is the procurement ecosystem within the wider Asite platform. Excessive manual data entry and duplication created significant friction and bottlenecks, leading to low adoption. I led the redesign to dramatically reduce manual effort, eliminate duplication, and create a much smoother experience, contributing to 5x revenue growth and increasing revenue share from 4% to 20%.

At a Glance

My Role

UX strategy, marketplace workflow redesign, product design, and stakeholder alignment.

Product Type

Enterprise SaaS procurement marketplace within the Asite platform.

Users

Procurement teams, buyers, project managers, suppliers, and commercial stakeholders.

Key Contribution

Redesigned core Marketplace experience, contributing to 5x revenue growth and increasing revenue share from 4% to 20%.

Low Adoption Revealed a Critical Opportunity

The existing Marketplace experience required significant manual data entry and duplicate information across multiple steps. This created major friction and bottlenecks in the procurement process, resulting in low adoption. Many companies preferred to stick with their established manual methods rather than use the platform. I led the redesign with a clear goal: dramatically reduce manual effort, eliminate duplication, and create a much smoother procurement experience that users would actually want to adopt.

The Challenge

Excessive manual data entry, duplication, and fragmented workflows created significant friction and poor adoption.

The Impact

Many organisations bypassed the Marketplace entirely, continuing with familiar but inefficient manual processes.

The Opportunity

Redesign the experience to minimise manual effort, reduce duplication, and make procurement workflows efficient enough for widespread adoption.

My Role:Improving Marketplace performance through design

I led UX strategy and redesign of the Marketplace experience, with a clear focus on reducing manual effort and duplication that created major bottlenecks and low adoption.

Discovery

Analysed user friction across procurement journeys and identified key improvement areas.

Workflow Redesign

Restructured key flows from discovery to order completion for clarity and efficiency.

UX/UI Design

Improved interface clarity, navigation patterns, and product presentation.

Stakeholder Alignment

Collaborated with product and commercial teams to align design with business goals.

Designing the Core Experience

I designed a configurable project delivery layer that connected seamlessly with the existing Common Data Environment.

The redesign improved core procurement capabilities while preserving the flexibility required for complex enterprise purchasing.

Product Search & Discovery

Enhanced search, filtering, and categorisation to help users find relevant products and suppliers faster.

Requisition & Request Flow

Streamlined end-to-end request creation with clearer guidance, validation, and reduced manual effort.

Approval Routing & Visibility

Improved approval workflows with better status transparency and control for all stakeholders.

Order Management & Fulfilment

Clearer tracking and management of orders from creation through to fulfilment.

Supplier Management

Better tools for supplier information, communication, and relationship management.

Procurement Analytics & Insights

Improved reporting and visibility into procurement activity and performance.

Making the concept tangible

I created high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes to validate the new workflows and secure stakeholder alignment before development.
